What is a CMTAthletes Group?
Every year, thousands of dollars come to the CMTA from golf tournaments, walks, and other athletic events, but holding a golf tournament or organizing an event is often beyond the scope of what an individual athlete can do.
That's why we created CMTAthletes Groups as part of the CMTAthletes Program. A CMTAthletes Group is an easy way for people to run a campaign to help the CMTA fund research and other important projects just by participating in already organized events like triathlons and marathons or by challenging themselves to complete individual feats in their sport—a bike ride, a swim, a mountain climb, etc.
How does it work?
A CMTAthletes Group is based on a personal appeal. Each of us has a group of family, friends, people we do business with, places we shop and so on. By reaching out to your group with a personal letter or email and asking them to make a contribution in support of your sport, you can greatly enlarge the number of people who support the work of the CMTA.
