The neurology team at Carilion Clinic is proud to partner with the CMT Association as a Center of Excellence. Our CMT clinic is held on the second and fourth Mondays of each month in Roanoke, Virginia.
Our core multidisciplinary team includes neuromuscular-trained neurologists, physical and occupational therapists, a respiratory therapist, a speech language pathologist, an equipment specialist, a dietitian, and a social worker. In addition, Carilion Clinic collaborates asynchronously with a wide range of medical subspecialties, including but not limited to orthopedic surgery, pulmonology, genetic counseling, and physiatry.

Dr. Lydia Sharp is a neuromuscular neurologist with over 10 years of experience treating individuals living with neuromuscular diseases like Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. She completed her training at the University of Texas Southwestern in both Neurology and Neuromuscular diseases. She has experience directing multidisciplinary clinics for both the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the ALS Association. Additionally, she has conducted both clinical and basic science research in neuromuscular disease.
