UCLA evaluates a diverse cohort of pediatric and adult patients with genetic neuropathies, including Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT). Patients are evaluated by a physician with expertise in neuromuscular disorders, with particular focus on genetic neuropathies to support comprehensive care, including diagnostic evaluation, longitudinal management, and, when appropriate, referral to Orthotics and Prosthetics and to Physical and Occupational Therapy. UCLA has a track record of participation in CMT-related clinical trials and remains committed to continued engagement in future therapeutic studies as opportunities arise.

Dr. Anasheh Halabi is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the UCLA Department of Neurology and the Founding Director of the UCLA Neuropathy Program. She is board-certified in Neurology and Neuromuscular Medicine and holds a PhD in Genetics. Dr. Halabi is actively involved in undergraduate and graduate medical education, teaching medical students at the David Geffen School of Medicine, as well as Neurology residents and fellows in Neuromuscular Medicine and Clinical Neurophysiology. In recognition of her contributions as an educator, she received the American Academy of Neurology’s A.B. Baker Teacher Recognition Award (2026) and the UCLA Department of Neurology Golden Hammer Award for Outstanding Clinical Educator (2025). She integrates genetic and translational research perspectives into neuromuscular clinical practice and has developed multidisciplinary collaborations across UCLA and with industry partners to advance innovation in the diagnosis and management of peripheral nerve disorders.
