Our 17 year old son Keenan was diagnosed with CMT 4C when he was 15 years old after years of continual new health issues and medical appointments with various specialists. We average 2-3 medical appointments per week including regular physical therapy. Unfortunately this means missed school and other opportunities as we are constantly balancing the medical realities with living a full and fulfilling life.
Despite the exhaustion, heartache and unpredictable nature of a progressive neurological disease, we live our lives to the fullest. Keenan is a bright curious senior in high school. He enjoys physics, computer programming, robotics, creating you tube videos, playing piano and spending time with friends and family. It would be a miracle to stop the progression of this disease while Keenan is young. Project Foresee – a gene therapy cure is the most promising pathway for this cause.
