Laurel Richardson

Senior Director of Community Outreach

Laurel oversees community programs, education, and patient advocacy and serves as the liaison to the CMTA Centers of Excellence network. She earned a degree in journalism with an emphasis in advertising from San Diego State University. Before joining CMTA, she worked in advertising and marketing and spent 10 years as a stay-at-home mom.

Laurel has held many volunteer leadership roles, including CMTA Branch leader, which first brought her into the CMTA community. As someone living with CMT1A, she is passionate about the mission and loves supporting others on their CMT journey.

She enjoys traveling, reading, cooking, and spending time outdoors, especially with her husband, Chris, and their two young adult children.

When she retires, Laurel hopes to become a dude ranch wrangler.
