Patricia Verduin, PhD

Pat’s journey with CMT1A began over 30 years ago when her daughter began showing symptoms. A very observant and knowledgeable physical therapist recognized the symptoms as CMT, leading to the diagnosis for her and her daughter.

Until her retirement in late 2022, Pat was the Chief Science Officer at Colgate Palmolive, responsible for all new technology and innovation. Leading discovery work and creating biotechnical solutions have been a significant part of Pat’s career in the food and consumer products industry. Pat’s expertise in science and technology, coupled with her dedication to global health, greatly enhances CMTA’s efforts to accelerate research and improve the lives of those living with CMT. Pat hopes to add value in governance, scientific strategy, and financial acumen to the distinguished board of CMTA.
