Tisento Therapeutics
Tisento Therapeutics is a clinical-stage company developing novel therapies for rare and neurological diseases with significant unmet needs. In collaboration with the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association (CMTA) and researcher Jordan Verplank, preclinical studies in CMT1A and CMT1B models have shown that sGC stimulators may improve key aspects of nerve health, including myelination, nerve signaling, protein balance within cells, and overall nerve function.
These findings suggest that sGC stimulation could have the potential to slow disease progression and improve symptoms in CMT, and importantly, may offer benefit across different genetic forms of the disease rather than being limited to a single mutation.
Building on this work, Tisento is partnering with the CMTA to expand research into additional CMT models and further evaluate its sGC compounds, including zagociguat. Zagociguat is an oral, once-daily investigational therapy currently being studied in a Phase 2b clinical trial for a rare mitochondrial disease.
Together, these ongoing studies aim to support the future clinical investigation of sGC stimulators, including zagociguat, in patients with CMT.
