Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association (CMTA) is proud to announce the designation of Francesco Michelassi, MD, PhD, Neuromuscular Neurologist at UVA Health in Charlottesville, Virginia, as its newest CMTA Center of Excellence doctor.
Dr. Michelassi is a physician-scientist with extensive experience caring for individuals living with CMT. He earned his medical degree at Weill Cornell Medical College and completed his internships in internal medicine, neurology, and a neuromuscular research fellowship at Columbia University. Dr. Michelassi’s research focuses on CMT and understanding the mechanisms that drive the disease.
