The Springfield, MO CMTA Branch is for those who have Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and their loved ones. We welcome you to join this vibrant group of active and caring individuals in your area to share resources, ideas, CMT-related information, and personal experiences and to, ultimately, build life-long friendships and support. Meetings will focus on CMT education, awareness, research updates, fundraising initiatives, advocacy, and current events and will include guest speakers. Jayne was raised in Salem, Missouri and later moved to Springfield to attend college, and still calls home today. While attending Missouri State University, she earned two Bachelor of Science degrees in Fashion Merchandising and Fashion Design. Diagnosed with CMT1B at the age of 16, though showing symptoms from birth, Jayne has spent her life navigating the challenges of having Charcot Marie Tooth Disease. Now 41, she draws strength and resilience from each hurdle, finding pride in every accomplishment, big or small. Her experience with this progressive neurological disorder has shaped her outlook and motivated her to find purpose in every achievement. Married to Clint and a loving mother to Asher (8) and Viva (4), Jayne balances family life with a passion for crafting, fishing, entertaining, traveling, and baking. Known for her custom-painted shoes and intricate 3D cakes, she brings creativity into every aspect of her life. Inspired by her personal journey with CMT, Jayne is dedicated to raising awareness by connecting with others and engaging in meaningful conversations. She is also passionate about fundraising to support clinical research, aiming to find a treatment and cure for this debilitating disease. Attending the 2024 CMT Summit, where she met others like herself for the first time, was a deeply emotional and empowering experience. Jayne is committed to making a lasting impact within the CMT community and helping others who face similar challenges.
