The Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association (CMTA), through its strategic alliance with the Inherited Neuropathy Consortium (INC), is proud to announce the 2025 Inherited Neuropathy Fellowship. This one-year fellowship highlights how the CMTA-INC alliance drives progress by equipping the next generation of clinicians and researchers with the tools to advance clinical care and research in CMT. Fellowships will begin between February and August 2025, reinforcing the alliance’s mission to accelerate impactful advancements in CMT.

Who Should Apply?

This fellowship is designed for clinically qualified applicants, typically in neurology, though candidates from allied neurology professions are also encouraged to apply. Eligibility requirements include:

  • U.S. Applicants: Completion of a neurology residency and, preferably, at least one year of a neuromuscular fellowship or equivalent training.
  • International Applicants (UK, Europe, and beyond): Equivalent or allied neurology training levels.
  • Applicants with junior faculty positions or more advanced qualifications may also be considered, provided they demonstrate a long-term commitment to developing clinical or laboratory research in hereditary neuropathies.

Fellowship Highlights

Each fellowship is tailored to the individual fellow, ensuring a comprehensive training experience in CMT. Fellows will:

  • Gain hands-on experience in all aspects of clinical research related to inherited neuropathies.
  • Conduct an in-depth research project aligned with their specific interests.
  • Train at one of the INC’s premier research centers, located in the U.S., UK, Italy, or Australia, depending on their preferences and research goals.
