The Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association (CMTA), the world’s largest philanthropic funder of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT) research, is proud to announce the designation of Hernan Gonorazky, MD, at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto, Ontario, as a CMTA Center of Excellence.
Dr. Gonorazky is a staff neurologist and neuromuscular specialist within the Division of Neurology at SickKids. He completed his medical training at the University of Buenos Aires, followed by a residency in adult neurology and further specialization in neuromuscular disorders. He joined SickKids in 2014 to focus on pediatric neuromuscular care and research, becoming a permanent staff member in 2019. His clinical and translational research centers on congenital myopathies and spinal muscular atrophy (SMA).

NMD4C is a Canadian initiative that brings together clinicians, researchers, and patient organizations to advance care, education, and research for people living with neuromuscular disorders.
In addition to providing expert clinical care, Dr. Gonorazky’s clinic at SickKids is part of the Inherited Neuropathy Consortium (INC), an international network of CMT clinical research centers supported by CMTA through the CMTA-INC partnership.
Dr. Gonorazky’s CMT clinic operates within the hospital’s Neuromuscular Program and provides comprehensive, specialized care for pediatric patients from birth through age 18 with confirmed or suspected CMT diagnoses.
