Welcome to our Branch

What Are CMTA Branches?

CMTA Branches are volunteer-led local support and education groups for those living with Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease and their loved ones. We invite all community members to join these vibrant groups of active and caring individuals in your area to share resources, ideas, CMT-related information, and personal experiences and to, ultimately, build life-long friendships and support. Meetings focus on CMT education, awareness, research updates, fundraising initiatives, advocacy, and current events and will include guest speakers. The branches also offer a meaningful outlet for connecting with others who have CMT. All are welcome to join a branch near them or to participate in a virtual branch meeting.

Lonna Henry

Branch Leader Picture
Hello! I'm Lonna, I am a boy mom of two and married to my best friend, Rodney. I wasn't diagnosed with CMT1A until I was 27, but I have had symptoms since I could walk. I have multiple genetic disorders on top of CMT, Including Hypermobility Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and a Rare Mitochondrial Disease. I spend a lot of my time bringing awareness, educating others, and sharing my journey online. I hope to be able to reach more people and continue to educate others about Charcot Marie Tooth through the CMTA.

Branch Co-Leader Picture
My name is Kurt Connelly. I was officially diagnosed with CMT1A in 2018, and with my son, am part of four known generations of CMT. I have a wonderful wife and three kids, who keep me moving in all different directions. I am a geek at heart and love having little DIY projects to keep me busy. I am excited to be the Co-leader of the Tulsa branch and look forward to sharing encouragement, resources, and information. Whatever you’re doing today, do it with the confidence of a four-year-old in a Batman t-shirt.
