In 2024, CMTA united the CMT community to achieve remarkable progress in research, patient care, and community engagement. Key milestones included the landmark CMTA-INC Strategic Alliance, a $1.2 million annual investment that strengthens preclinical tools, biomarker development, and clinical trial readiness for all CMT. CMTA’s Strategy To Accelerate Research (CMTA-STAR) initiatives reached new heights, funding 34 projects across 14 subtypes and advancing critical genetic therapies and drug discovery efforts.
The 2024 Patient & Research Summit in Denver welcomed over 450 participants from around the globe, providing updates on cutting-edge research and offering spaces for connection and learning. Camp Footprint served 152 campers across two coasts, continuing to empower young individuals with CMT. Meanwhile, CMTA expanded its global network of Centers of Excellence, adding five designated Centers in the US, the UK, and Asia, each staffed by world-renowned CMT experts.
Thanks to our community’s dedication, CMTA raised over $4.2 million to drive research and support programs that improve lives today while creating hope for tomorrow. Together, we are accelerating research and empowering patients.
