Welcome to our Branch

What Are CMTA Branches?

CMTA Branches are volunteer-led local support and education groups for those living with Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease and their loved ones. We invite all community members to join these vibrant groups of active and caring individuals in your area to share resources, ideas, CMT-related information, and personal experiences and to, ultimately, build life-long friendships and support. Meetings focus on CMT education, awareness, research updates, fundraising initiatives, advocacy, and current events and will include guest speakers. The branches also offer a meaningful outlet for connecting with others who have CMT. All are welcome to join a branch near them or to participate in a virtual branch meeting.

Beth Dorin

Branch Leader Picture
Beth was raised in Southern California and spent her career in sales management in the tech industry, mostly in Southern California, with a short stint in Northern California. Her favorite part of her career was working with people to solve problems and mentoring people to help them achieve their goals and their best selves. In her career she was recognized for her mentoring and management skills and now retired, is using those same skills in a voluntary capacity with her church and community. She loves traveling, attending cultural events (plays, concerts, museums), reading, cooking, wine tasting and learning and is a big animal lover (especially her dog!). Beth’s CMT was diagnosed when she was in her young 20s. Her father also had CMT. For many years she thought she had CMT1A, but about 5 years ago she had genetic testing done at Cedars-Sinai and it was revealed that she has CMT2A. Although diagnosed in her 20s, her CMT became a factor in her young 40s. Now she wants to take all of her skills and interests to help spread awareness about CMT and stay involved to help find relief and/or cures for CMT.
