Welcome to our Branch

What Are CMTA Branches?

CMTA Branches are volunteer-led local support and education groups for those living with Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease and their loved ones. We invite all community members to join these vibrant groups of active and caring individuals in your area to share resources, ideas, CMT-related information, and personal experiences and to, ultimately, build life-long friendships and support. Meetings focus on CMT education, awareness, research updates, fundraising initiatives, advocacy, and current events and will include guest speakers. The branches also offer a meaningful outlet for connecting with others who have CMT. All are welcome to join a branch near them or to participate in a virtual branch meeting.

Branch Leader Picture
Lynne decided to lead a CMTA branch in Connecticut after her son was diagnosed with CMT. At that time, she realized how little she knew about the disorder she'd been living with for nearly 40 years. Now, there's a way for those living with CMT in southern Connecticut to come together to share experiences, learn about ways to cope and create awareness. Lynne resides in North Haven with her husband, daughter and son. She is an avid reader whose book club has been together 15 years, a longtime volunteer for a state literacy organization, an occasional freelance writer and someone who randomly feels the need to bake. Lynne is grateful to be a part of the CMTA family and its vision of a world without CMT.
