My name is Norma Levy. I am a wife and a mother of 2 boys. I work as an office manager in the medical field, and I am also a certified professional medical coder. I was diagnosed with CMt 1a in 2017. My son also has CMT1a, and we are looking forward to helping spread the word and find a cure.
Anne was born in Syracuse New York and moved to Tampa Florida when she was 5 where she was raised. Anne currently works full time at a law firm. After many years of the unknown and several surgeries she was finally diagnosed at 12 at Shriners Hospital. Anne’s father's side of the family has the CMT1A. At that time the only way to diagnose was through EMG. Anne got married in 1992 and moved to Miami with her husband they have 4 kids which are grown. My 2 oldest sons also have CMT. My 2 younger daughter and son unfortunately have another genetic disease which Anne has as well. After many hours of Genetics, the Birt-Hogg Dube Syndrome was discovered, which happens to run on the same chromosome.
Hi, my name is Jessica and I'm the mom to a beautiful 10 year old girl who was diagnosed with CMT a couple of years ago. I believe she inherited from my side of the family because I have a couple of relatives that had a few issues growing. I haven't been diagnosed with CMT and have been pretty active most of life. I make efforts to keep my daughter as active as possible and keep her motivated to work around her obstacles. Joining this community has been great because I interact with those that have already walked in her shoes and help me guide her around obstacles CMT might create. I want to offer any services I can through volunteer work, participation, and spreading the word about CMT.
