Welcome to our Branch

What Are CMTA Branches?

CMTA Branches are volunteer-led local support and education groups for those living with Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease and their loved ones. We invite all community members to join these vibrant groups of active and caring individuals in your area to share resources, ideas, CMT-related information, and personal experiences and to, ultimately, build life-long friendships and support. Meetings focus on CMT education, awareness, research updates, fundraising initiatives, advocacy, and current events and will include guest speakers. The branches also offer a meaningful outlet for connecting with others who have CMT. All are welcome to join a branch near them or to participate in a virtual branch meeting.

Becky Bandy

Branch Leader Picture
Becky has recently become a part of the CMTA, as she was diagnosed with the novel CMT2S in 2013. She found out about her diagnosis through a genome sequencing that she had done at Texas Children’s in Houston. She does not have any family members with CMT. Becky was an MDA ambassador for the state of Texas, where she would travel all around Houston to fire houses to promote MDA summer camp. She recently got married in 2019, and earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2018 from the University of Central Arkansas. She is now pursuing her masters degree in counseling. She lives in Cabot, Arkansas. She is excited to bring her knowledge on CMT and mental health to the group, and spread awareness about CMT to those in the central Arkansas area.
